Step 3: Choose a Reference Check Format

Select one of the following options:

  • Upload your own form — use your existing internal or industry-specific reference form.

Step 4: Submit the Request

Once submitted, the referee will receive a secure request to complete the reference check. The completed report will then be delivered to your organisation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELECTING QUESTIONS

  1. Choose the questions you want asked: Review the list of standard reference check questions below and select all that are relevant for your candidate.

  2. Optional customization: You can select only the questions that matter for this specific role or situation—there’s no need to choose all.

  3. Order of questions: Questions will be presented to the referee in a logical order, from general performance to teamwork, reliability, leadership, and overall assessment.

  4. Additional comments: You can also include your own question(s) at the end if there’s anything specific you want the referee to address.

  5. Review before submission: Double-check your selections to ensure the reference request captures the feedback you need.

  6. Final distribution: Once submitted, the selected questions will be emailed directly to the referee for completion.

 Tip: For shorter reference checks, consider choosing the most critical 8–12 questions to improve completion rates.
